Obaa Yaa was a woman who loved life deeply and had an impeccable sense of fashion. She always maintained the sentiment “fashion knows no bounds in age”. In her later years, she humorously avoided grand birthday celebrations, believing they often preceded one’s departure from this world. When illness eventually came, she received care at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) in Legon. Despite the tireless efforts of medical staff and the devotion of her children, she passed away peacefully at the age of 91. She leaves behind a legacy of courage, generosity, humility, and an open door that never closed to anyone in need. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” Romans 8:28 Obaatanpa.
